This course (open to full-time students only) is designed to help you improve your oral communication skills in various social, academic and professional settings. In small groups or pairs, you will discuss relevant topics, learn essential vocabulary and idioms, and participate in role plays about real-life situations. Oral presentations and debates also help you practice your skills. Listening activities include comprehension, note-taking, and critical thinking. You will access our high-tech language lab where you can work further on your listening and pronunciation.

This integrated course (open to full-time students only) is designed to help you become a more confident reader in English. Explore a variety of reading genres, including newspaper and magazine articles, short stories and novels to develop fluency and understanding of cultural contexts. Reading skills exercises focus on skimming, scanning, comprehension and vocabulary building. Classroom discussions strengthen speaking and listening skills. You will also explore relevant grammatical constructions.
